The Soviets always had a knack for finding interesting and original solutions to their armament requirements. When there was a need for a high performance fighter bomber, they took a proven design, the Su-7, added swing wings and got the Su-17. These “Fitters”, as NATO continued to call the new family, proved to be tough and capable, like their forebears. It’s not a surprise that a two-seater would be needed, and there are a couple of kits to chose from. Of course, I prefer the more obscure one, the 1/72 Hobbycraft Su-22U.
