Sometimes, all a design needs is a bit of freshening up to make it look brand new. A perfect example of this are the retconned Gundam Wing redesigns done by Hajime Katoki. Taking the Endless Waltz Gundams and backdating them to “original” versions has yeilded, almost without exception, designs that are cleaner and meaner-looking than the originals.
