Sometimes, you just can’t do it all. It’s nice to try, but you need to know your limitations to be truly succesful. Sadly, the folks at Amiot didn’t think of this when they designed the Amiot 143. This hideously ugly, ponderously slow and decidedly not aerodynamic craft was designed to be a recon, bomber and heavy fighter airplane, all in one package. That works today, for planes like the Rafale, Gripen and Typhoon, but back in the ’30s, this wasn’t as easy. Check out the Heller 1/72 Amiot 143 kit and you’ll see what I mean. This monstrosity lives on the Out of Box page. Go take a look: IF YOU DARE!!!
A say it’s a classic.
Yes, that’s one way of putting it.
Hard to believe there was a multirole heavy fighter that made the Bf-110 look athletic, isn’t it?
Quite…
