The gas crunch of the ’70s gave the Japanese an excellent opportunity to invade North America with decent quality, cheap, efficient and overall reliable cars. Against their bigger American opponents, these lightweights did well. However, it was surprising how well Datsun’s small pick up resonated with a buying public more used to big, burly, open-back haulers. Thus, it’s no surprise that MPC kitted the heck out of the Datsun 620, aka “the little hustler”. Now, Round 2 has resurrected this small-statured grandfather of today’s minitruck.
