When it comes to cheap and dirty replicas of some cheap and ugly cars, I don’t think anyone can beat the French maker Solido with their “Solido Cougar” line of 1/43 metal-and-plastic replicas. Some of these are highly cheapified French Dinky Toys, and others are original Solido moulds.
All, though are cheap and cheerful in every sense of the word! Well, cheap at least. I find them cheerful because nothing makes me happier than replicas of what are widely felt to be some of the ugliest and weirdest cars that Europe put on the road in the ’70s and ’80s. These Motoring Misfits are a treasure of mine.
